Innovation - 02/10/2012

Cara Hetland hosts this edition of Innovation. Mary Anne Boyd, with the South Dakota Chamber of Commerce and Industry, joins Pharmacline CEO and Founder Steve Eough. They discuss the Giant Vision and SD Technology Business Center Accelerator. SDTBC's Pam Boehm also joins in to talk about the program.

The Launch 2012 Conference and Rickert Entrepreneurial Speaker Series are coming up. Craig Rickert is the owner of C.A. Associates and founder of the speaker series. He talks about Famous Dave Anderson, who is the featured speaker on February 20 in Brookings.

Also, the Center for Entrepreneurship Executive Director Rhonda Pole talks about the Launch 2012 program. She is joined by Arel Moodie, who is the featured speaker at that event. Arel is widely known as "America's Top Young Speaker," and he was recently named one of Inc. Magazine's Top 30 Entrepreneurs in America under 30.

Finally, hear about an innovative concert taking place this weekend. Brian Balmages composed "Apollo for Soprano Saxophone and Wind Ensemble." He talks about the concerto, which is based on the tragedy of the Apollo 1 mission. The work is dedicated to the memory of Gus Grissom, the commander who died in the accident.
