UK Parliamentarians View State Primary Election

Dakota Digest - 06/14/2012

Last week's primary election in South Dakota brought some unique visitors to the state.  A group of British Parliamentarians paid a visit to South Dakota to watch our election process. In Britain there is generally no primary, rather candidates are more often appointed by their parties. The group visiting South Dakota included members of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords from across the political spectrum.  SDPB's Charles Michael Ray caught up with the group and asked them to reflect on what they've learned by watching democracy in action on this side of the pond.
