A group of over 150 Native American students from across the United States came together at the Crazy Horse Monument last week for the 9th annual Native American Journalism Career Conference. The goal of the event is to help increase the number of Native American people in Journalism – a profession where Native people are severally under-represented. SDPB’s Randall Barrett and Charles Michael Ray worked with a group of Native American students – the assignment: the upcoming presidential election. The students came up with the story and the interview questions and helped write and produce this story for today’s Dakota Digest.
