"The Lakota language is among the most widespread indigenous dialects of the Great Plain?& but like many other languages worldwide, Lakota is under threat of extinction. There is a sense of urgency to save the language and the wisdom and perspective it carries for future generations. A new Lakota language school on Pine Ridge is now being built, thanks to some help from a European rock star. SDP?s Charles Michael Ray has this story.
