The 2026 Class A state team dual tournament took place from Pierre TF Riggs high school on Friday, February 13th. It saw Sturgis Brown win their third straight state team dual wrestling championship.

Craig Mattick’s guest on In Play is a true South Dakota wrestling legend. He qualified for the state tournament six times, captured three individual titles, and helped his team bring home two team championships. Later, he returned to coach his alma mater—where he watched his own son win three state titles. He’s a proud Vermillion Tanager: Hazen Bye.

Another year is in the books, but it's safe to say 2025 didn't disappoint. It was filled with some fantastic moments at the SDHSAA events. We wanted to share some of SDPB's favorite memories from the year.
