Day one of a House Select Committee on Investigation is starting.
It's the first of two days of meetings by the group. Most of it is behind closed doors.
The group is investigating whether articles of impeachment are warranted against Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg for his conduct following a fatal car crash.
The nine member committee took oath of office before going into executive session.
Those tuning in won't hear much during the two day meeting. Toward the end of day two the group will convene for discussion and possible action.
This is the first time the group has convened since appointing Rapid City lawyer Sara Frankenstein as special counsel.
Speaker of the House Spencer Gosch says the group is behind closed doors for "attorney-client discussions."
Gosch says the two day meeting is only the beginning of the impeachment inquiry.
Over the course of the investigation the group will pour over thousands of documents gathered during the investigation of the fatal crash, as well as hours of audio and video.
It will focus on writing a report for the full House with a recommendation whether to impeach Ravnsborg.
