The lawmakers that are part of the House impeachment inquiry are meeting to release the investigation file and committee report into the fatal car crash involving Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg.
The impeachment inquiry has met a handful of times since January.
The group has subpoenaed several people involved in the investigation into a fatal car crash in September of 2020 involving Ravnsborg and a Hyde County resident. It’s also called on members of the Attorney General’s office for questioning.
Since March 10, the inquiry’s lawyer Sara Frankenstein has been writing an impeachment report, which will include any findings the inquiry came across.
The report will also include the full investigation file conducted by the state Department of Public Safety and North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation, minus redactions. There are 72 redactions total, which include personal information and gruesome photos of the victim’s body.
It’s not clear if the committee will adopt a recommendation on whether to impeach Attorney General Ravnsborg. House Speaker Spencer Gosch is presiding over the group. He says that has yet to be discussed.
House lawmakers are scheduled to meet on April 12th to cast a vote on the issue.
