The Brookings Regional Humane Society is temporarily closing its animal intake services.

This comes after staff said over 50 cats and four dogs were taken in from a household after the owner passed away.

They are asking for community support and donations to help.

The society is asking for monetary donations to cover medical expenses, supplies, and foster homes for nursing cats and kittens.

They have wish lists to Amazon, Chewy and Walmart.
