A temporary suspension bridge is returning all sewer flows back to the Vermillion Treatment Center.
The facility was damaged in last month’s severe flooding. Officials said prior to this fix, some sewer flows were discharging directly into the Vermillion River.
The bridge connects the sanitary sewer system to the Wastewater Treatment Facility.
City officials said a long-term solution is in the works and should be developed before winter.
