SDPB

South Dakota is now able to request federal money to expand internet access across the state.

The federal Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration is approving the state’s initial proposal for expansion.

Connect South Dakota can now move forward with the program and request more than $200 million in aid.

The money comes from a Biden Administration Initiative that allocated more than $40 billion to create more accessible internet across the country.
