SDDOT seeks public input on proposed changes to section of HWY 44

South Dakota Department of Transportation

The DOT hosts an open house on Oct. 17 to get public input on two proposed bridge replacements on Highway 44.

Officials said the meeting at the Canyon Lake Activity Center in Rapid City lets DOT staff and the public discuss the suggested replacements of the bridges.

The proposal would raise the roadway and shift the location of the existing bridges, to accommodate changes in traffic and waterflow in the area.

Input is accepted until Nov. 1.
