The Department of Tribal Relations is hosting the 7th annual State Tribal Opioid and Methamphetamine Summit this month.
The event is in Pierre on Oct. 21 and 22.
The summit brings together state, local and tribal prevention providers and law enforcement in an effort to fight the drug epidemic in the state.
Some of the features of the summit are a Law Enforcement Panel, a panel on resources for families facing addiction and a discussion with Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons Coordinator Allison Morrisette.
Members of the Oglala Department of Behavioral Health, Great Plains Tribal Leaders Health Board and South Dakota Fusion Center will be in attendance as well.
