Officials say a lockdown of state prison facilities in Sioux Falls has ended.

The lockdown began Sept. 15. A statement from the Department of Corrections said it was a proactive security measure which included searches for contraband.

More details about contraband seized, including weapons, will be released next week.

DOC officials said the lockdown was not in response to any specific fight or disturbance.
