Jackley urges passage of AM radio act in wake of natural disasters

Attorney General Marty Jackley is urging Congress to pass the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act of 2024.

Jackley along with 11 other attorneys general are stressing the importance of AM radios in times of emergencies, like Hurricane Helene.

In a letter to Congress, the attorneys general expressed concern over reporting that some car manufactures are not including AM radios in new vehicles.

Nearly 80 AM radio stations, covering roughly 90% of the US population, serve as the primary entry point for emergency alerts sent by FEMA and the National Weather Service.
