On Monday, the Orlando Chamber Soloists released their “We Are South Dakota Virtual Choir 2013” video. It’s a 15-month community collaborative effort including 160 voices, 281 video clips, native drums and the professional musicians of the Orlando Chamber Soloists. The video features children from throughout the Black Hills and Pine Ridge, each recorded individually and combined into a mass virtual choir. This collaborative effort included more than 40 community and arts leaders to bring it to its full completion. The concept of the video is a collaborative effort to bring together the children of the four counties of the Black Hills and Pine Ridge who are served by the Orlando Chamber Soloists during their summer residency. The video continues the Orlando Chamber Soloists’ mission to break down economic and cultural barriers though music. The video can be found at www.OrlandoChamberSoloists.org. Michael Hill and Dawn Marie Edwards of the Orlando Chamber Soloists talked about the project.
