A unique tour of the Red Cloud Heritage Center postponed by last weekend’s weather has been rescheduled for this Saturday.
Lakota artist Arthur Amiotte will show and comment on an exhibit of his collages that covers 26 years of work.
Mary Maxon is curator of The Heritage Center. Maxon says having the opportunity to view Amiotte’s 55 collages is an unusual opportunity in itself. Adding the artist to the mix is a rare event.
“He’s a historian,” observes Maxon. “He’s an anthropologist…an artist…a gentleman…a scholar. He has such interesting things to say…with not only the visuals of his work but the story behind them.”
The exhibit of Arthur Amiotte’s collages continues at the Red Cloud Heritage Center through December 15.
