When Trampled Under Foot played the Orpheum Theater in Sioux Falls last November it was already known that it would be one of the band's final shows together. Siblings Danielle, Nick and Kris Schnebelen had performed as Trampled Under Foot for about a dozen years when drummer Kris announced he was leaving the band. Bassist Danielle and guitarist Nick soldiered on and added veteran Kansas City musician Jan Faircloth on drums. The addition of keyboardist Mike "Shinetop, Jr." Sedovic turned the band into a four-piece. Faircloth and Sedovic helped Trampled Under Foot find a fresh take on their trademark sound. Trampled Under Foot earned Band of the Year honors in the 2011 and 2012 Blues Blast Music Awards. Nick Schnebelen received a 2008 Albert King Award for Best Guitarist at the International Blues Challenge. Danielle Schnebelen earned a 2014 Blues Music Award for Best Instrumentalist. The band's final CD, "Badlands," which was released (July, 2013) on the Concord Music Group label, debuted at Number One on the Billboard Blues, iTunes Blues and Amazon Blues charts. This show was part of the Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society's 2014-15 "How Sweet It Is" Concert Series.
