Animator Ron Campbell is in Rapid City this week before heading to Aberdeen. Campbell's legacy includes directing the Beatles' cartoon series on ABC. He was the animator of the film Yellow Submarine and he worked on productions like The Big Blue Marble, the Smurfs, and the original Scooby Doo. Campbell's work in children's television has garnered him a Peabody and an Emmy.
Cambell exhibits Beatles cartoon pop artwork along with other beloved cartoon characters through Sunday at the Shaviq Art Gallery in Rapid City.
