In the midst of the current pandemic, South Dakotans are depending more than they ever on reliable energy, telecommunication and Internet services. It's easy to forget that just a couple of generations ago a lot of rural families didn't even have electricity much less the kinds of technologies we have today. It might also be easy to forget that connecting rural South Dakota took a long time and a lot of work and money.
Today SDPB is launching a long-term project that will document the history of rural connectivity in South Dakota.... and the many small and large steps that let us work and live the way we do today.
