South Dakota's male voters rejected woman suffrage proposals in five elections between 1889 and 1918. But local and national suffrage activists kept the issue alive and managed to get another measure on the 1918 ballot. This time was different. Molly Rozum, Ph.D. is an associate professor of history at the University of South Dakota and joins us today.
