Sylvia A. Earle's "Ocean: A Global Odyssey"

This interview is from SDPB's daily public-affairs show, In the Moment, hosted by Lori Walsh.

During the early days of the pandemic, the world watched as economies slammed to a halt but ecosystems, in many ways, blossomed. What did we learn about our impact on our environment, and how do we build a "new normal" that sustains human activity as well as the intricacies of planet Earth?

Today we welcome one of the world's top experts on ocean science and conservation. Sylvia Earle is president and chair of Mission Blue and a National Geographic Explorer at Large. She's author of the book Ocean: A Global Odyssey. The book is a new release from National Geographic and a stunning look at the unfathomable deep.

We talk with Earle about how nature not only "bites back" but shows us exactly how human actions impact the sustainability of an inhabitable planet.

A transcript of this conversation is pending.
