A musical mystery through history.
An upcoming play at the Black Hills Community Theatre follows the academic Dr. Katherine Brandt, who is battling Lou Gehrig's disease.
As Brandt faces the end of her life, she finds herself driven on a quest to understand why the frequently ill and profoundly deaf Beethoven spent the last years of his life composing "Variations on a Waltz by A. Diabelli."
It's a piece she considers to be mediocre. As Brandt takes her journey, she must reconcile her ambitions as an artist, and her relationship with her daughter.
Director joins Lori Walsh on In the Moment and explains how they're incorporating a classical pianist into the play.
