Visitors at the South Dakota arts conference are invited to make time for an exhibit entitled "The Chair is Not Me."
It features a collection of writing by J.J. James Janis with illustrations from artists with disabilities. Janis, who has has cerebral palsy, has penned a series of poems which are inspired by his experiences and shine a light on the struggles and triumphs of people with disabilities.
"The Chair is Not Me" is produced by Flutter Productions which provides opportunities for artist with disabilities. Heather Pickering is artistic director, she joins Janis for a conversation with Lori Walsh on In the Moment.
"The Chair is Not Me" is available for viewing at the South Dakota Arts Conference. In the Moment will feature a reading by Janis on May 19.
