The South Dakota Humanities Council is accepting applications for grants up to $10,000.
Humanities Council representatives said successful applicants strive to "celebrate literature, promote civil conversation, and tell stories that define our state through projects in discussion, media, and research."
The application deadline of Oct. 15, 2024, is for projects taking place after Dec. 1. Projects can include a variety of formats, but should be free, open to the public, and include a public discussion event.
