Chloe Lamb Added To POY Award Watch List

Chloe Lamb A Player of the Year Candidate

South Dakota’s own Chloe Lamb has been named to the Her Hoops Stats midseason watch list for the 2022 Becky Hammon mid-major Player of the Year award. She’s one of fifteen players currently listed.

Lamb grew up in Onida, South Dakota and played high school ball for Sully Buttes. After a stand-out career with the Chargers, she came to the University of South Dakota.

Her Hoops Stats mentioned in their release how Lamb has seen her numbers on the court increase this season.

“The super-senior leader for the Coyotes, Lamb has held steady with her scoring numbers compared to last year while becoming more effective as a distributor. Lamb is averaging 0.6 more assists per game, and her assisted shot rate has risen from 14.5% up to 20.4% without seeing her turnover rate rise in response.

Lamb has 1,611 career points for USD currently, which is fifth in program history. She also has nearly a 40% three-point percentage – 23rd nationally in D1 college women’s hoops. Lamb is averaging 15.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game this season.

Her Hoop Stats' player of the year award is named after fellow South Dakotan Becky Hammon. Hammon grew up in Rapid City and played high school basketball at Stevens.
