CJ Ham Named To First Pro Bowl, Replaces Juszczyk

Minnesota Vikings fullback CJ Ham

Minnesota Vikings fullback and Augustana University alum C.J. Ham has been added to the roster for this upcoming week’s National Football League Pro Bowl game. This is made possible because Kyle Juszczyk of the San Francisco 49ers, who was originally selected to the event, can’t attend because he is playing in the Super Bowl on February 2nd.

A native of Duluth, Minnesota, Ham attended Augustana University in college where he played running back. Throughout his time with Augie, he ran for over 2,500 yards and 29 touchdowns on the ground. He also caught six touchdown passes with nearly 1,000 receiving yards in college as well.

Ham just finished his fourth season in the NFL two weeks ago, all in Minnesota. As a fullback for the Vikings, he has mostly been in a blocking role. In 2019, Ham played 359 snaps, which is second most among fullbacks in the NFL. Along with being Dalvin Cook’s prime blocker, Ham caught seventeen passes this season for 149 yards and one touchdown.

The NFL Pro Bowl is scheduled for a 2 pm CT kickoff this coming Sunday in Orlando. This is Ham’s first trip to pro football’s all-star game. He becomes a restricted free agent this offseason.
