The Department of Transportation begins work on a shared-use path in Spearfish next week.
Starting Monday, June 17, crews will install a retaining wall and complete pipe work on Old Belle Road between Tumbleweed Trail and Russell Street.
Officials say traffic could be reduced to two lanes and drivers should be prepared for sudden slow-downs and stopped traffic. They also remind drivers to mindful of construction workers and equipment next to driving lanes.
The DOT expects the $1.7 million project to be by complete Nov. 1.
