CoThe railroad company that operates a bridge in North Sioux City that collapsed due to flooding says they’ve put in place a plan to keep trains moving in the area.
Burlington Northern Sante Fe spokesperson Kendall Sloan said trains that would have used that bridge are being rerouted at Creston, Iowa.
The company is monitoring conditions at the washed-out bridge. BNSF said the bridge will require extensive repairs, and a completion timeline has yet to be determined.
Gov. Kristi Noem said the state will work with BNSF to rebuild the bridge “as soon as possible.”
This railroad bridge in North Sioux City washed out because of the rushing flood waters. We will be working with BNSF to rebuild the bridge as soon as possible. It just goes to show the destructive power of water — treat these waters with respect. pic.twitter.com/QR9zRD8DQX

Correction: an earlier of this version erroneously described the future of the building as “uncertain.” BNSF only said the time for repair completion has not been determined.
