The Children’s Home Society celebrated the start of renovations on the new Rapid City campus.

“Today marks the beginning of transformative construction work and transformative services here on the CHS campus,” said President and CEO Michelle Lavallee. “We are looking forward to the day when our entire team of experts will be on one campus to help prevent, treat, and heal trauma for our children and families in the Black Hills.”

Currently, the organization runs the Residential Treatment Facility and School in Rockerville and several outpatient therapy offices and other services in Rapid City.

Officials said they expect to move into the new building, located at the former National American University Campus, in mid-2026.
