Daktronics is asking shareholders to decide whether to move its incorporation jurisdiction from South Dakota to Delaware.
Company officials said the proposed move would not impact business operations or manufacturing.
Daktronics president and CEO Reece Kurtenbach said in a statement the company’s corporate headquarters and the “vast majority” of employees would remain in South Dakota. He said the move aims to take advantage of Delaware’s shareholder rights, allowing the company more flexibility in corporate governance.
A date for the shareholder vote has not been set.
Daktronics produces video and digital displays for clients around the world. The Brookings-based company was founded in 1968.
