Black Hills Community Theatre continues its 57th Season with the timely and decadent musical Cabaret, based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood with book by Joe Masteroff, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. Set in the seedy Kit Kat Club, this musical favorite explores the dark, heady, and tumultuous world of 1920's Berlin as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich. Cabaret features memorable songs and follows eccentric characters such as the garish Emcee, the charismatic singer Sally Bowles, the disillusioned landlady Fraulein Schneider and the mild-mannered fruit seller she loves, as they navigate a world on the brink of change.
