Join Black Hills National Forest and BHPFA for a series of nature programs! Programs could involve hiking up to 2 miles on uneven terrain. Please come prepared with layers, closed-toed hiking shoes or boots, sun protection, water & snacks.
How does wildfire shape the land over time? On this hike, we’ll explore the role of fire in the Black Hills, both past and present, and how it influences the landscape, wildlife, and plant life. We will learn about fire’s role in ecosystem health, its impact on biodiversity, and how nature recovers and thrives after a burn.

Let's celebrate friendship on National Public Lands Day! The Friendship Tower is a symbol of Seth Bullock and Theodore Roosevelt's relationship and the lasting impact it had on Black Hills National Forest. Taking inspiration from Bullock and Roosevelt we will explore symbiotic relationships in nature—how different species coexist and support one another to thrive in the Black Hills.
