Former Centerville mayor charged in Memorial Day shooting

A former Centerville mayor is charged with three counts of first-degree murder.

According to the Attorney General’s Office, the charges stem from the shooting deaths of three victims found in a Centerville home late Monday night.

Sixty-four-year-old Jay Ostrem is being held on a $1,000,000 cash bond in Minnehaha County Jail.

The DCI is leading the investigation. The names of the victims and details of what led to the shooting have not been released.
