John Thum is the Sioux Falls police chief. He said the department needs voluntary information from witnesses at the scene.

“There were multiple people that were there, people know exactly what happened, we rely on cooperation from the public to help us out in these circumstances. Crimestoppers is a great tool, a great way to provide information even if you don’t feel comfortable providing information. It is something that has been very key for us in the past," said Thum. "So, again, we have three people in the hospital, one person deceased. It’s important that that is accounted for and that people cooperate and use Crimestoppers if they feel comfortable to provide us with the information that they have.”

Officials said this is the sixth homicide in Sioux Falls this year.
