Dunham Park in Sioux Falls remains closed after a multiple people were shot Sunday afternoon.
Sam Clemens is the Public Information Officer for the Sioux Falls Police Department.
“We had four people that where hit by bullets, one person died on the scene, three others were taken to the hospital by friends or acquaintances,” said Clemens.
While information is limited, Clemens said the investigation is on-going and the department is looking for help from the public.

John Thum is the Sioux Falls police chief. He said the department needs voluntary information from witnesses at the scene.
“There were multiple people that were there, people know exactly what happened, we rely on cooperation from the public to help us out in these circumstances. Crimestoppers is a great tool, a great way to provide information even if you don’t feel comfortable providing information. It is something that has been very key for us in the past," said Thum. "So, again, we have three people in the hospital, one person deceased. It’s important that that is accounted for and that people cooperate and use Crimestoppers if they feel comfortable to provide us with the information that they have.”
Officials said this is the sixth homicide in Sioux Falls this year.
