South Dakotans can get nose-to-nose with a colony of honeybees at the South Dakota Discovery Center's new observational hive.
While the hive is only about two weeks old, it's already the size of an apple.
Rhea Waldman, Ph.D., is the executive director of the center. She talks about what it takes to start a hive, how to find the queen and how to decode a honeybee's dance.
She also shares some hard beekeeping lessons her team has already learned.
