School buildings in one eastern South Dakota district were evacuated twice in one day after receiving bomb threats.
The threats were directed at Flandreau Public Schools Tuesday. The school district said all students and staff are safe.
Moody County Sheriff Troy Wellman said the first bomb threat was called in Tuesday morning. School buildings were evacuated. Investigators determined there was no threat, and students were allowed to return.
The school received a second threat that afternoon, prompting another evacuation. Students were taken to the Tribal Community Center for pick-up.
Wellman said investigators are working to identify who called in the threats.
All school activities scheduled for Tuesday evening were cancelled.
