Dakota State University is developing a program to allow students in certain fields to get their degrees sooner.
Starting this fall, the Madison-based university is offering fast-track options for Network Security, Computer Science, and Cyber Operations degrees.
Students in these programs will be able to get their bachelor’s degree in three years instead of four. There will also be the option to complete the Network Security associate degree in 18 months instead of two years.
“The ‘degree in three’ is a fantastic option for students who are looking to fast-track their college degree,” said associate professor Dr. Pat Engebretson. "In addition to cost savings, this gives our students the option and opportunity accelerate their learning and join the workforce sooner.”
University officials said they’re exploring similar accelerated options in the education field.
