With holiday travel going on across the state this weekend – it is important to keep an eye on the weather.

Matthew Bunkers is a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Rapid City. He said the NWS does not see any weather impacts to traveling.

“The weather’s looking nice for this upcoming weekend. In terms of, it’s gonna be dry, so we don’t expect precipitation or thunderstorms or anything like that. It’s gonna be rather warm,” Bunkers said.

However, he said to be mindful of those dry conditions.

“It’ll be relatively dry so just watch what you’re doing outside with any kind of firepit activity, anything like that so just keep that in mind. Otherwise, should be a great weekend,” Bunkers said.

Bunkers said travelers may see some south winds, but nothing unusual for the area.
