What are Esports? SDPB talked with players, coaches, and the SDHSAA during the inaugural Esports State Tournament to learn more about this rapidly growing sport.

The inaugural SDHSAA state Esports state tournament took place from Aberdeen Central this weekend. More than thirty teams were represented. Here are the results in each category for the event.

The first ever state sanctioned Esports tournament got underway on Friday, February 14th, from Aberdeen Central high school. More than 30 schools are represented at the inaugural event.

Craig Mattick’s guest is a former Roosevelt Rough Rider who won state titles in basketball and volleyball, was South Dakota’s Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year, and became one of the first from the state to play Big Ten volleyball.
