Disasters have a tendency to teach lessons and the major October blizzard a month ago is no exception. The freak and ferocious storm caught many off guard. Hundreds were trapped in their cars and thousands became snowbound at home, many without power or heat. In the wake of the storm many residents are vowing to be better prepared for the next disaster. Alexa White, assistant coordinator with Pennington County Management, and Mike Carter, Custer County Emergency Manager, talked about the lessons learned and about what individuals can do to get ready for the next time a major disaster disrupts everything.
