Today we are talking about diabetes research and education. Type 1 diabetes accounts for about 10 percent of all diabetes diagnoses. In Sioux Falls, The Sanford Project is focused on finding a cure for Type 1. Dr. Kurt Griffin is a specialist in Pediatrics Endocrinology. He focuses his research interests on the immunology of type 1 diabetes. As part of the Sanford Project, he is responsible for the design, performance, and interpretation of multicenter clinical studies in recent-onset of Type 1 Diabetes and is working toward the objective of curing the disease.
