The 1 million rapid COVID-19 tests the state of South Dakota ordered are delayed.
The state purchased Flowflex tests and said the tests would arrive last week. The Department of Health said it would make those tests available through testing partners and publish locations where residents could pick up tests.
Department officials now say due to “supply chain issues,” the tests are not in yet. A Health Department spokesperson says in an email that the issues “developed under the current federal Administration.”
Rapid tests are in high demand with infections at an all-time high in the state.
The Department of Health does offer tests through the mail. The federal government is also delivering tests to households that request them.
