The 2025 SDHSAA state girls basketball tournaments continued on Friday, March 14, with the consolation semifinals and championship semifinal rounds.

The Sioux Valley girls basketball team has a teddy bear on their bench during the state tournament this week. That bear is a symbol that honors one of their own.

Disappointment in 2024 led to a more determined Sioux Falls Washington team this season. That drive led them back to the Class AA Tournament in 2025. Warriors Coach Jamie Parish also crossed a career milestone of 300 wins this season.

The 2025 SDHSAA state girls' basketball tournaments got underway on Thursday, March 13, with Rapid City (AA), Spearfish (A), and Huron (B) hosting.

Bennett County is bound for the semifinals. The Warriors, seeded fifth coming into the ‘B’ girls state tournament, defeated fourth-seeded Parkston 51-49 on Thursday in the quarterfinal round.

She won three straight state basketball titles with Yankton, went on to become a dominant player in college and then played professionally in Europe. Lisa Van Goor joins Craig Mattick on this edition of In Play.
