Finley McConniel of Freeman Academy/Marion not only won an individual state title on Saturday in Rapid City at Hart Ranch, but it was also the most entertaining finish of the six races.

Faith Wiese of Flandreau won the ‘A’ girls individual cross-country title on Saturday at Hart Ranch in Rapid City. She finished with a time of 18:27.59, nearly a full thirteen seconds ahead of runner-up finisher Ellie Maddox of Sioux Falls Christian.

Northwestern’s Ella Boekelheide is now a two-time individual state cross country champion. The Wildcats junior won the ‘B’ girls race with a time of 19:07.52 at the state cross country meet on Saturday from Hart Ranch in Rapid City.
