SDPB learns more about the impact of two of Britton’s finest football players – Dallas Goedert and Trevor Zuehlke - and discovers how tragedy turned into a message of strength that spread across South Dakota all the way to the NFL.

Sioux Falls Lincoln defeated Brandon Valley 31-21 on Saturday night at the Dakota Dome in Vermillion to win the 11AAA championship. This is back-to-back titles for the Patriots and their fifth state championship in program history.

For the first time in more than four decades, the Lennox Orioles have won a state football championship. It was a game that saw both offenses struggle, but it was the Orioles who made enough plays on offense to secure the 14-6 victory in the 11A championship game in Vermillion on Saturday.

For the first time in 23-years, the Watertown Arrows have won a state football championship. The game was sloppy at times, by both squads, but each brought plenty excitement. A crucial stop on a two-point conversion was the difference as Watertown edged out Pierre TF Riggs 14-13 to win the 11AA title.

Today's guest, one of the all-time great girls' basketball players in South Dakota. She scored more than 2,000 points in her high school career and was named South Dakota's Miss Basketball. Megan Mahoney joins Craig Mattick on this edition of In Play.
