For the first time since 1989, Sully Buttes has reached the pinnacle in high school football. The Chargers defeated Faulkton Area 34-14 in the 9B state championship game at the Dakota Dome in Vermillion on Thursday afternoon.

For the first time in 36-years, the Sioux Valley Cossacks are Dome bound. They took down Elk Point-Jefferson, who has been to state championship game in 11B the past two-years, and also won it in 2022, in the semifinal round 28-14 to punch their ticket to Vermillion.

2024 saw the final season of football played at Watertown Stadium. SDPB was there for the regular season goodbye to a place the Arrows have called home for more than 80 years.

The 2024 South Dakota High School Activities Association football championships will take place on Thursday through Saturday, November 14-16, from the Dakota Dome in Vermillion.
