Track & Field - SDPB State Championship Coverage

Meet pole-vaulting sisters - Ciana, Kelsey, and Tenlee, and their dad and coach Chris Stiefel of Custer. You could say, pole-vaulting runs in their family.

The second day of the 2025 SDHSAA state track and field meet saw ten more state meet records broken through the prelims, field finals, and track finals.

Ashlyn Koupal, a junior from Wagner, has now won five ‘A’ state high jump championships. She claimed the title on Thursday in Sioux Falls at Howard Wood Field during the 2025 state meet.

She is one of the all-time, multi-sport athletes. She saw success in three different sports. A track champion, a two-time state volleyball champion, and played in a national college basketball championship. Heather Goehner (Sieler) joins Craig Mattick on this edition of In Play.
