Concerned by the plight of the Malawian children, Peter Mawanga has gained the moniker of "Voice of the Voiceless." He established Talents of the Malawian Child in 2004 and he has trained and mentored orphaned and venerable children during music workshops. As a result of these projects Mawanga produced three albums for these children.
Over the last 10 years, Peter Mawanga and The Amaravie Movement have been dedicated to Nyanja, the genre that's created through their multiple elements of instrumentation, rhythms and melodies.
