Mitchell High School senior Zach Van Meter leads a ten-member jazz fusion band called the TriTones. The roster is made up of students from Mitchell High School.
Van Meter's band was the only group of high schoolers that weren't playing rock music at the recent South Dakota Hall of Fame Battle of the Bands. They won — with other contestants lining the front of the state to show their support.

The TriTones would like to return to defend their championship next year, but as Zach Van Meter explains, eight of the members are graduating in the spring.
