How to watch 2024 All-State Jazz and Show Choir

The 2024 SDHSAA All-State Jazz Band and Show Choir Concert will take place from the Johnson Fine Arts Center at Northern State University in Aberdeen on Saturday May 4th at 4:30 pm CT.

Willie Murillo (Brea, CA), Sean Parsons (Ohio University-Athens, OH), and Jeff Rupert (University of Central Florida – Orlando, FL) are the guest conductors on the Jazz Band side, while Kevin Chase (Ankeny, IA) and Luke Warren (Inver Grove Heights, MN) are the guest conductors for Show Choir.

Jazz will consist of two Big Bands and a Combo. Murillo will conduct the Combo with both Parsons and Rupert conducting the Big Bands. On the show choir side, Chase is the guest choreographer with Warren as the vocal instructor.

The concert will stream live through SDPB at 4:30 pm CT at sdpb.org/music. It’ll re-air on television on SDPB1-TV on Saturday May 26th at 8 pm CT.

Nate Wek is currently the sports content producer and sports and rec beat reporter for South Dakota Public Broadcasting. He is a graduate of South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism Broadcasting and a minor in Leadership. From 2010-2013 Nate was the Director of Gameday Media for the Sioux Falls Storm (Indoor Football League) football team. He also spent 2012 and 2013 as the News and Sports Director of KSDJ Radio in Brookings, SD. Nate, his wife Sarah, and three sons, Braxan, Jordy, and Anders live in Canton, SD.
